You’re sending visitors to the wrong page (hint: what you think is the right page might actually be the wrong page).
You’re not tracking your ad results and metrics.
You’re targeting cold traffic with a hard-sell.
You haven’t ventured past the ‘Boost Post’ button.
You’re running a campaign for Facebook likes.
This article could potentially save you a fair few thousand dollars, so it’s worth the 5 minute read. When I first launched The Sugarfree Box, over a year ago now, I knew that I needed to collaborate with some influencers to help grow our audience. I had bootstrapped the entire business, launching with about two weeks’ lunch money set aside for marketing. I figured that a single post from an Instagram influencer who received between 500 and 1000 likes per post would result in a sea of sales. That I could spend the rest of my life in the Maldives, sipping coconuts and reading trashy novels on a hammock, whilst my business whirred along in the background.
I’m part of a number of entrepreneurial Facebook groups and, frankly, I’m getting a little tired of all the Instagram chat in there. From people sharing their “secret” Instagram hacks, to creating pods and follow trains, it’s all becoming a bit much. I think we’ve all forgotten the real secret to social media – being social. Building a real connection – not just basing your self-worth on a bunch of vanity metrics that really don’t mean much at all.
So, step 1 to upping your Instagram game is to just be social and to genuinely engage with others. But what can you do to make sure your content is worth double-tapping?
“I’m paying so much money each month for an SEO agency, but I’m still not number 1 in Google!”
“I spent a whole day optimising my website for keywords and my organic traffic hasn’t increased.”
Oh, if only I had a dollar for every time I’d heard one of these complaints. SEO is a fickle beast to tame, and quite an overwhelming one too. It seems like there are so many different things you need to cover – and there certainly are. Unfortunately, I see so many people only covering off only one or two of the key SEO elements and wondering why they’re not getting any Google-love yet. That’s one reason why you might not be ranking just yet – but what if you’ve invested a whole lot of time and/or money into your SEO and are still not getting the results you want? Is it all a waste? And more importantly, why isn’t it working?
In this article, I’m going to share 5 common reasons why you’re not on the front page of Google (yet!). These aren’t all the reasons why, but they’re very common ones.
